CS ROLE Model Example

The following is an example on how the CS ROLE Model works.  Note that one can see the path as a straight line (a definite end) or a circle (reincarnated).  Either way, after #12 you start again with #1 in this life or the after-life.  I personally believe that wherever you end up in this life, you start from in the after-life.

  1. My boss believes in me that I can perform a task s/he needs done.

  1. I am asked to perform a task

  1. I receive the task

  1. I am told what the task is about

  1. I read the information in the task and realize either, a) that I have the mental acuity to perform the task or not, b) I need more training (skill) in the subject matter through formal training to match the type of information in the task, or c) I can perform the task with the knowledge and skill I possess and/or am able to possess by my own knowledge and skill and that from my colleagues.

  1. I must decide to act so that I can soon accept realistically that fact I have to, a) face confronting my boss and feel the embarrassment of admitting to my boss that I cannot perform the task because I lack the mental acuity altogether, b) face confronting my boss and feel the embarrassment of admitting to my boss that I need more training (skill) in the subject matter through formal training to match the type of information, or 3) admit to my boss I can perform the task with the knowledge and skill I possess and/or am able to possess by my own knowledge and skill and that from my colleagues.

  1. I have the faith in myself to at least start performing (testing out) the task best I can.

  1. After testing out the task for a little while, I reassess #5 and be responsible and accept the option that is realistic.  If feel no guilt or shame of who I am and what I am capable of doing.  If where I am is not realistic for me, then I need to be somewhere that is.  This is all part of growing up.

  1. Whichever option is the realistic one, I devote myself to that option and place.

  1. The work is completed in whatever way was accepted in #8 by stopping the task altogether, or I writing up the part of the response to the task I’m responsible for.

  1. My boss hands over the part of the task I am no longer responsible for to someone else, I deliver the part I am responsible for to my boss, and/or I deliver myself to my realistic place.

  1. I let go of the task/place altogether (erasing it from my mind), and I rest in peace (in the present) knowing and caring nothing of the past nor of anything in the future, a.k.a., I celebrate and go on vacation (a bit of heaven-on-earth).
